Under the patronage of Prince "Edward" .. Al-MArashdeh and Obeidat attend the 14th conference of the International Duke of Edinburgh Award in Rom

At the invitation and patronage
of Prince (Wassk), Prince Edward, brother of the King of the United Kingdom, His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jadara University and the Director General of the American University Schools for the Middle East, Dr. Shukri Al-Marashdh, and His Excellency the President of Jadara University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Talib Obeidat, participated in the attendance of the 14th Duke Award Conference Edinburgh Founder (Prince Philip) International, based in Cluj, Romania.

Al-Marashdh and Obeidat expressed their admiration for the award and its important role at the international level in the field of personal development of young people and facing challenges.

Al-Marashdh and Obeidat called for the necessity of urging young people to participate in the award because of its positive effects, which are reflected in its programs on their professional lives.

They stressed on the necessity for the universities and companies' employees to give the international award great importance throughout embedding it in the students' personal data and job applications in their future careers.

They said that the award makes an excellent contribution to the candidate's personal and social development, helping to develop faith, self-confidence, a sense of identity, a sense of responsibility, teamwork skills, leadership, and the ability to learn and give to others in the community.

They pointed at the many other aspects that the award aims to achieve, summarized as; independence of thought and action, good awareness, and basic skills, including problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is an award established on 1 September 1956 in the United Kingdom and spread in many countries of the world under different designations until it became a national award for youth.

Jordan is one of the countries where this award was applied, and it was named the El Hassan Youth Award after Prince El Hassan bin Talal. The director of the Sabila El Hassan Youth Award, Mrs. Samar Al Kaldani, participated in the ceremony.

The Duke of Edinburgh Prize is usually awarded to young people between 14 and 25 years for their individual achievements.

The award has three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. It is given to individuals in recognition of their activities in four different areas: high skills, sports activity, community services, and exploratory trips.
